Trending Report for 2024 Colors & Mood
Why I Created the Trending Report for 2024 While Working as a Design Intern at Woven
During my time at Woven, one of my key responsibilities was identifying the trends for 2024. I believe that one of the most crucial aspects of defining upcoming collections in the design industry is predicting trends that have yet to be fully realized, ensuring that the designs meet the evolving preferences of consumers.
The trend report I worked on was especially important in this context. I focused on selecting colors—understanding that even within a single color like red, there are countless variations. I carefully researched the shades expected to trend in 2024, considering both darker and lighter tones. After thorough research, I reviewed textiles and furniture firsthand, identifying the colors, moods, and styles expected to dominate in 2024. This process laid the foundation for developing trend-informed designs.
Assist Rug Collection & Textile Design
1. Color Selection for Client
In this stage, I collaborated closely with clients to select the most suitable color palettes for their custom rugs. I focused on understanding their preferences and needs while keeping upcoming design trends in mind. By presenting a range of color options, I helped guide them toward choices that complemented their space and aesthetic vision.
2. Rug Design Development
Once the color palette was finalized, I contributed to the design development process. This involved conceptualizing patterns and textures that aligned with both the client's vision and the broader design trends. I worked with various textiles and materials to ensure the rug designs were both visually appealing and functional.
3. Rug Selection for Showroom
For the showroom, I participated in selecting rugs that best represented Woven’s collection. I focused on choosing designs that showcased innovation, high-quality craftsmanship, and alignment with the latest trends. This selection process was key to attracting potential buyers and setting the tone for the upcoming collection.
4. Rug Design with CAD and Photoshop
To bring the designs to life, I used CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and Photoshop to create detailed technical drawings and visual renderings of the rug designs. These tools allowed me to accurately depict the final product, ensuring that the designs could be seamlessly translated into production. My work included creating both floor plan layouts and pattern simulations for client presentations.
